Age is no longer a factor when you suffer from oily nose; it can occur at any age and more and more adults are flocking to dermatologist office with complaints about oily nose, large pores and blackheads. Most attempts to remove pesky blackheads often result in large indentations on the nose. Having an oily nose invariably means blackheads, whiteheads and acne. So today we will take a look at some effective remedies to get rid of oily nose overnight:
1. Use good cleanser
A good cleanser can remove excess oil without stripping the skin off its natural oil barrier. Many dermatologists recommend two different cleansers for winters and summers. In the cooler months, go for super gentle cleansers when the skin is already very dry and fighting the elements. Likewise, in summers, you will need a cleanser that gets rid of perspiration and oil. Use a formula containing amino fruit acids and low ph ingredients. Avoid soaps that are very harsh on the skin and tend to exacerbate oil production.
2. Apple cider vinegar
Store a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar (ACV) in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours. Apply the cold vinegar all over the oily nose pores and blackheads. Your skin will look and feel visibly softer and cleaner. With regular use of vinegar for oily nose, you can get rid of large pores and whiteheads and blackheads. This remedy also works on acne. However, do not use vinegar on active acne as it can sting and burn. Also, drink organic, raw ‘mother’ ACV daily on an empty stomach. This will remove toxins and prevent constipation. The internal use of apple cider vinegar also balances ph to give you glowing skin.
Honey is a great balancing remedy for getting rid of oily nose overnight. Apply raw honey to the nose and leave it on for 20 minutes before rinsing clean. Use this remedy daily to get rid of oily nose blackheads and indentations or scars. You can also drink honey mixed with organic apple cider vinegar to balance ph internally and fight inflammation.
4. Aloe Vera
Apply a mixture of Aloe Vera gel, vitamin E and Lavender oil to the skin. Leave it on overnight and wake up to oil-free, glowing skin. Wash off with cool water the next morning. Use this remedy daily to balance excess oiliness.
5. Baking soda
Use fresh baking soda mixed with a bit of fresh water to scrub the nose, cheeks and chin. This remedy can prevent oily nose, blackheads and large pores. However, it might sting a bit, so exercise caution when using it. Repeat daily for cleansing the face. Over time, the excess oil production will reduce.
6. Coconut oil
You can fight excess oil with oil! Drinking a teaspoon of coconut oil (extra virgin, organic preferably) can help shrink large pores and reduce excess oil production. Also massage coconut oil on the face in winters. Wipe off the excess with a tissue. With daily use, your skin will look clearer and there will be fewer blackheads and acne breakouts.
7. Essential oils
Many essential oils are known to curb excess oil production and blackheads on the nose. Use diluted Frankincense, Helichrysum, Sandalwood and Neroli oils. You can use Jojoba or Argan oil for diluting these oils.
8. Lemon juice
Caution: Use this oily nose remedy only at night and use a SPF 30 in the day time when using this remedy for oily nose and blackheads. Apply lemon juice all over the nose. Leave it on overnight to reduce oiliness, blackheads and zits. Lemon juice can increase photosensitivity. So use this with caution-you do not want to create new age spots in the process.
9. Sour cream
Applying sour cream all over the nose and blackheads can reduce the oiliness and also shrink the pores. Wash off after 30 minutes. Repeat application daily to see results.
A lack of zinc, B complex vitamins and Magnesium can all cause excess oiliness, larger pores and acne and blackheads. So take a multivitamin pill. You also need at least 1000 mg of vitamin C daily.
